Testimonies of Healing

It is with the deepest gratitude...

From the December 1912 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with the deepest gratitude that I testify to the blessings I have received in Christian Science. Five years ago, while visiting my sister in Florence, Col., I first heard of it. The love expressed appealed to me, and when I saw every one looking so happy and free from care, I thought how beautiful it must be to have a religion which meets every need. Every day blessings came to me. I was healed of disease and set free by the truth. I had no special treatment for the healing; but day by day I could see that my health improved as I faithfully studied Science and Health, and I have not used any material remedies since. For many years I had suffered from a stomach disorder, weakness, colds; and fear of eating all that was set before me was much in evidence; but I no longer fear anything, for I have taken God as my refuge and strength. There were errors to be overcome each day, but divine Love met my every need and I am striving to be more faithful and more worthy to be called a child of God. My health is now perfect.

The cause of Christian Science is progressing in many small towns in Cape Colony. Two years ago I found one person reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy; now there are many seeking for the truth; each one has received health and strength, and all are very thankful to our dear Leader. The Grahamstown Public Library kindly accepted Science and Health as a donation; also at the jail, on behalf of the prisoners, they are pleased to receive our literature every month. I know that divine Love opened the way for me everywhere I went,—all was love and harmony. The literature is received with joy and thankfulness in each home, and as it is passed along it comforts and helps the weary who are seeking for health, and they are filled with joy.

I wish to thank the Publishing Society for the Lesson-Sermons, which I find so helpful, and many happy hours are passed in reading the literature.—
