It is over three years since I sought healing in Christian Science. I had coughed more or less steadily ever since I can remember, but I did not give way to fear until one day when, without warning, I had a hemorrhage. After that I had these attacks very often, in fact daily. Then I grew too weak to be up, and finally could not speak without a great effort. I had the best of care, and every material remedy that could be thought of, but at last was unable to eat, or even to take any medicine. The doctor told me if he could do anything more for me he would, but that nothing more could be done. I knew I could get no aid from the doctors, for we had as good a doctor as could be found, and he told me I had incurable lung trouble; so in my extreme sorrow I prayed that God would save me for my little children, and my prayer was answered. I was asked to try Christian Science, and although I did not know anything about it, I heard that it was at least harmless, so I sought its help. I was so well repaid that since then I have been trying to learn more of this Christ-cure, and have had some good demonstrations of the power of Truth. One was the healing of a badly injured arm. The child did not suffer at all after a few minutes, but went to sleep, and when she woke up she said she was well. In a few days she was using her arm freely.
I am very thankful that I turned away from the material to the spiritual, and I am more grateful for the spiritual healing which I have received than for the physical. There is nothing to compare with this, — to know that God is Love, and that He does not know evil; that He never tempts man, nor can He be tempted, but is "a very present help in trouble."
Perhaps I should explain more about my healing. I was at work in a few days, after I had about three treatments. I carried my baby, and in a little over a week went on a journey for which we had planned. A week before going, I asked for help in Christian Science, because I had always suffered from traveling; but that was also overcome, so that now I can travel without fear. At the end of my journey I felt tired, but as I realized that God was my strength I grew strong. We went to Arizona, which was a week's journey, but I got along splendidly. I am now strong and well, and I will be glad to answer any inquiries as to my healing.— Kalispell, Mont.
