I am truly grateful for the understanding I have of Christian Science. It has brought much joy and peace into my life, and it is a sweet solace to know that we have found the Comforter that never fails in time of need. In the summer of 1911 our little five-year-old daughter was taken very ill, with high fever and a rash on her body. I called a practitioner who was visiting near our little town (we then lived in another place) and explained the case to him. He was in the country, but said he would give absent treatment and would come to see her in the evening. All day I treated her as best I knew, striving to realize the perfection of God's child and that sickness had no power over her. When the practitioner called in the evening, the little girl showed marked signs of improvement. The next day she still had a little of the rash, but otherwise was as well as ever, eating anything she desired, and she has never had a touch of sickness since. We thought this a fine demonstration of the power of divine Love, which "always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).
Christian Science has been a great help when at times in the old thought we would have felt we could never overcome the obstacles. My greatest blessing is the spiritual understanding I am gaining through the daily study of the Bible and Science and Health. I wish to express my gratitude to God, also my thankfulness to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the many benefits received, and my daily prayer is to know more of this truth which destroys all error. —Hilliard, Fla.
