I should like to tell of the help I have received in Christian Science. A year ago I was very much run down physically, and also mentally, and was greatly in need of help. Troubles had seemed to come thick and fast, until at times it was very hard for me to realize the truth about overcoming them. Then I went to a friend, a Christian Science practitioner, and she began to help me both physically and spiritually, and slowly I gained a realization of the all-presence and all-power of our Father-Mother God. This helped me to grasp a little of what Mrs. Eddy teaches us in regard to man being the expression of God, reflecting strength, harmony, and intelligence, all good.
At this time I became conscious of a growth in my right breast, and my own fear soon became too great for me to treat myself, as the growth increased noticeably. I was not examined by a physician, but I wrote to this friend who was treating me, telling her of my new trouble, and in less than a week the growth had entirely disappeared. I struggled desperately against the fear that it might return, and in a few days, as I could not overcome this fear, the 'growth was as large as ever. Again I wrote for help, and this time the healing of the fear, and with it of the growth, was entirely accomplished in about three weeks, and there has never been a sign of it since.
This is only one of many demonstrations which have been made for me during the past year. Colds, which had formerly clung to me for weeks, have been met and overcome with a couple of treatments, also throat trouble and severe headaches. The spiritual guidance, however, has meant even more to me than the physical help.— Douglas, Ariz.
