It is eleven years since I have taken any medicine, while previous to that time I took much. During these years I have been an honest, persistent student of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and I have found God's law as revealed therein enough to enable me to give up glasses after wearing them for twenty-five years. I have not had them on for over nine years, while before I began to study Science and Health I could not distinguish a letter without them. In the daytime I can now read without glasses as well as I ever could; although at night I require a drop-light to see to read.
It is very seldom that I take cold, and if I do it is soon overcome. Formerly I was much troubled in winter with a throat affection, but for several winters I have been free from this difficulty. Indeed, I have lost the sense of fear in most directions. There seem to be some problems that still trouble me, though I know that as I hold to the truth of being and see only God and His creation, all error must flee for lack of reality. After I knew that rheumatism was no part of man's being, this consciousness caused me to rise above material law, and I have been free for two years. God's spiritual law is the only law to govern man, and will surely heal if we see nothing else.
I study the Lessons from the Quarterly every day, and have gained what understanding I have from the Bible and Science and Health; I have not had class instruction. Money could not buy the knowledge of God's law that I have gained. I love Mrs. Eddy for being brave enough to stand by her convictions and give the Christ-idea or law to humanity. Our troubles flee when we comprehend and cling to the Principle of being.— Kansas City, Mo.
