With a heart filled with gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me and mine, I am impelled to send this testimony of the power of God to heal.
In the spring of 1912 I had an attack of erysipelas which started on the nose one Tuesday afternoon and developed so rapidly that it was necessary to get a substitute to take my place at the Wednesday evening service. I asked for help in Christian Science, and although even on Saturday evening it did not seem possible that my face would be normal so I could read on Sunday, the inflammation having extended over the entire surface of the face even to the edge of my hair, yet upon awakening early Sunday morning I found myself perfectly free, the face smooth and clear, and I was able to be at my place for the service.
About twenty-five years ago I was ill for weeks with this same trouble, and the contrasting effect of the application of the truth as revealed through the teaching of Christian Science, and the absence of all fear, was to me a beautiful evidence of the great blessing that has come to the world through the teaching of our revered Leader. It was in the winter of 1903 that I first investigated Christian Science and was healed of an acute sensitiveness to chill, and a fear of heredity. Since then I have been led step by step.
