About two years ago, the company with which I was then employed sold out to another large concern, leaving me without work. I immediately sought many of my friends who are prominent and influential in business, confident that through some one of them I would secure work in a short time. I had a great many promises, and I also trusted in a small measure to God, so I had very little conscious fear; but time lengthened into weeks and months, and still I had no work. My wife finally advised me to go to a practitioner, which I did, and told my story. I was informed that I had been depending upon personality, and that I must rely only on God. The scales dropped from my eyes and I saw my great mistake.
Immediately I endeavored to place all my trust and confidence in God, knowing that He is the source of our supply, and when I left the practitioner, I was assured that God would direct me in the right way and that there was a position waiting for me. I walked about half a block and inquired for work at a large electrical power company. I was employed, and during the following nine months I was given four different positions, each a little better than the other, and am now filling an important place with this company. Though my surroundings at the time of my seeming trouble were anything but harmonious, this condition has been overcome, and I have also been healed of the tobacco and liquor habits.
Some time later I ran a nail into my foot. For a while this seemed to be a very stubborn case, and the flesh turned blue several times, which frightened those about me; but I knew that an accident could not harm man, and that God's child could not be injured. I did not lose a day's work, although at times the pain was so severe that I would have to sit down; but after receiving four absent treatments I was completely healed.
