Testimonies of Healing

I feel that I cannot wait any...

From the June 1914 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I feel that I cannot wait any longer to express publicly my gratitude for Christian Science in a general way, and also in particular, in the case of my eighteen months' old boy. One evening, about the middle of June, 1912, the baby tripped over a rug and fell on his feeding-bottle, knocking out one of his upper front teeth. I was alone in the house with him at the time, and there were no Scientists near me; but I knew that God was with me, so I strove to overcome a sense of disappointment at the thought of his being disfigured till the second set of teeth should come. I kept on affirming the truth, and clung to the statement on page 489 in Science and Health about the lobster's claw being restored, so why not a tooth? I also wrote to my mother, who lives in another city, about the accident, and she went to work on the same lines. We denied the possibility of any of God's children being injured or disfigured in any way, and affirmed my little boy's right to that tooth which he had owned for so short a time.

The result was, that in less than a month I discovered a little white point, but I said nothing about it till I was sure. In two months' time, however, the baby had a perfect new tooth in the same old place, just like the other, and fully half-way through the gum. Everybody who hears of the case thinks it remarkable, and a wellknown dentist had said that he very much doubted if the child would ever have a tooth there again.

All thanks and praise to God "for his wonderful works to the children of men;" and all gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for rediscovering the divine law which makes these healing works possible. It is a little more than six years since I had my first Christian Science treatment, and I have had no medicine other than the truth since. I was able to lay aside glasses after the first treatment, and have been helped in innumerable other ways; but best of all, I have found a perfectly logical religion, which I can believe because it can be proved. —
