The gratitude of those who know the healing power of Truth is greater than words can express, and it is my hope that this testimony may help some one to seek and receive healing, even as I have sought and received it, in Christian Science.
In 1910 I was very ill, and the doctors diagnosed my case as an abnormal growth. They said that my only hope of relief was to undergo a severe operation; but neither my husband nor myself could consent to this, as we had had some experience in Christian Science a few years before. Not being able to obtain Christian Science treatment in the place we were then living, we decided to remove to Joplin, Mo., where it could be had. When we reached this decision I was suffering from severe hemorrhages and was obliged to be in bed most of the time. The journey, although not long, was to me a hard and painful one. On reaching Joplin I was taken to the hotel, and I immediately went to bed. A Christian Science practitioner was then sent for, and to me the sunshine of hope seemed to come with her. I improved from the first treatment. The hemorrhage was completely overcome in twenty-four hours, and it never returned. It was not necessary for me to remain in bed after the first day, although I was not completely healed for four months. Patient, conscientious work met every discordant condition that presented itself, and I am now a well woman.
There have been many demonstrations of the power of divine Love in our home, and for eight years no medicine has been used. Christian Science has healed all the ailments that have presented themselves. My husband was healed of appendicitis in two treatments six years ago, and he has never had any trouble since. I am truly grateful for the teaching of Christian Science, and thankful to all who have helped me to gain an understanding of the truth which enables me to help myself and others. — Joplin, Mo.
