Before coming into Christian Science it seemed as if there was nothing for me to live for. I was a nervous wreck, the greatest trouble being my back, for there was not an hour when awake that I was not conscious of it. I had tried various kinds of treatment but found no permanent relief. As a last resort I turned to Christian Science. My healing was slow, but I never wavered. When I began to read Science and Health I knew it was the truth. Treatment was begun in Los Angeles about the first of March. Later, going to Ocean Park, Cal., I had another practitioner, and my healing took place in September. Though I had felt so little change physically during that time, I kept faithfully at my task, scarcely reading anything all that summer but the authorized Christian Science literature. Such peace and relief came to me when I realized I was healed! I have never had any trouble with my back since and can do whatever is required of me.
Not alone for physical relief am I grateful, but also for the change in disposition and freedom from worry. Then I am very grateful for the light which comes in reading the Bible, and for the better understanding of it through our text book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Since my healing six years ago I have had help in many ways, physically, in accidents, and in a business way.
It is such a comfort to know that God is the source of all supply, and that in His strength all things are possible. I am indeed thankful for Christian Science, for the text book and the other writings of our dear Leader, and for our publications.— Portland, Ore.
