From the August 1915 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the summer of 1913 I began to study Christian Science. As I was staying in the country with a Christian Scientist, I used to read some of the literature, and one of the testimonies in the Sentinel interested me very much. When I came back to London I thought I would like to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," so I borrowed it from the reading-room of First Church, and started to read it. I can never express in words the wonderful change the reading of this book brought to my consciousness; it seemed as if a weight were lifted from me. A great sense of depression was completely overcome, and the truth sustained and satisfied me. I could scarcely put the book down, for I felt it was doing me so much good.

After reading Science and Health I began to go to the Christian Science services, and many physical ailments, such as great nervousness, throat trouble, and stomach disorder, have left me. Not only am I better and stronger physically, but mentally and morally also. In every way Christian Science has helped me, and I cannot express the gratitude I feel for all that I have learned through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, and the understanding of the Bible gained through Christian Science.—
