A few years ago Christian Science found me in a small town in New Hampshire. I was very sick with pleuropneumonia, sciatica, and other ailments. All winter I had suffered from an organic trouble, and finally went to the hospital in March for an operation. It was said to be successful, but left me very weak. When I was taken ill again in June I became discouraged with doctors and medicine, and longed for the end to come. The doctor advised my husband to let my people know of my condition, and when they heard of my illness they sent the very one I wanted to come, a sister who is a Scientist. A few hours after she arrived, when supper was over and the three boys bad been put to bed, she read to me from Science and Health. Right then I was happy, confident of finding out just what God is.
My sleep was peaceful that night. Inside of two weeks I was up, and helping to do my work, much to the surprise of every one, as the doctor had said I would have to be in bed most of the summer and would not be able to do any work for a long time. By trusting and being obedient I have continued to grow stronger every day, and am now perfectly free from any physical trouble. Christian Science has also proved to be the religion I had been so earnestly desiring for my boys. I am very thankful for all these blessings.— Bangor, Maine.
