When on a business trip with my husband a few years ago, I was taken with a sudden attack of rheumatism. We got home as quickly as possible and I went to bed immediately. My husband called a doctor, who came at once but said he could do nothing to relieve me except inject an opiate and give me hot applications. These remedies were tried for one night, and the next morning I said I must have Christian Science treatment, whereupon a practitioner was called. In a few days I was able to ride in a carriage thirteen miles to a railway station, thence by train twenty-five miles to the practitioner's home. This was on Saturday afternoon. I had made arrangements to stay with her for a few days, thinking to gain much by this visit, but the next day I announced my intention of going to my sister's home in another city one hundred miles away. The practitioner told me I could do it, and I did. I got there at six o'clock in the evening, felt well, and slept all night. The next morning it rained hard, but as I had made this trip for a special purpose I went out just the same. I walked a number of squares, climbed stairs, and did as any normal woman would do.
In June, 1914, a similar difficulty seemed to manifest itself. I again had help, this time from a very dear aunt who is a practitioner. The trouble soon began to yield, and it gradually gave way to the voice of Truth. Christian Science has been our reliance for fifteen years, and in all that time, except for the attacks mentioned, I have been in perfect health. Before coming into Science I was full of the ills of the flesh, but am thankful to God, and grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I have been healed, and am now out of bondage and a worker for Science. I hope those who may read this will find help and encouragement.—Franklin, Ohio.
