Although I had known of many healings through Christian Science and for years had been dissatisfied with the spiritual comfort received from the teachings of the church to which I belonged, yet it required a very severe trial, and then the healing of my husband, to make me willing even to try to understand Science. It was almost a year after that before I began to grasp this glorious truth. It was a long, hard struggle to overcome mortal mind, but all this time we were having a clear demonstration of God's power. My husband was healed of nervous troubles, sleeplessness, and severe stomach disorder, after studying Science and Health for three evenings. He has since, through his own understanding, been healed of a large goiter, and with aid from a practitioner, of an abscess in the head.
I have been able to overcome lifelong bowel trouble and a dreadful fear. My life was a constant fear that something would happen to some of my loved ones, but now I know that God will care for them, so the fear is gone. A little over a year ago a baby girl was born to us, and with the help of Science I was able to take entire charge of the baby and my housework when she was twelve days old. Since then I have been in perfect health and am stronger than ever, besides gaining a peace and joy that is greater than I ever dreamed was possible. With a fervent heart I thank God daily for the understanding of Him which has been gained through the study of Science and Health.
We have had many other proofs of the allness of God, and words cannot express our gratitude for and happiness in Christian Science. Every day is one of rejoicing in the understanding of the laws of God which we gain through its study.
