It is three years since I first came into Christian Science after a severe nervous breakdown. I was opposed to Science, not knowing what it really is, and thinking it would take me away from a church where we had all been brought up and of which we were members; but I finally decided to try it to please a very dear sister. A few weeks after I began to have treatment my mother passed on very suddenly, and realizing that I wanted more help than could be given by other churches, for the first time I desired to attend a Sunday service at a Christian Science church. I did so, and was so uplifted and helped that I have never since wished for any other form of service. In Science we have a religion for'every day, and the Lesson-Sermons and all the literature are a tremendous help in our daily life.
I should like to express thanks for the great help received in another experience. It was in February, 1914, and this time I knew that only Science could help me. I am very grateful for having been allowed to resort to Christian Science in this way, as my people are not yet in Science, though they had no objection to my having treatment. My healing at times seemed slow, but I know my feet are now firmly planted on the "Rock," and I am most grateful for all the loving help that has been given to me. My prayer is for a clearer understanding, that I may be able to make more practical use of what I know of Christian Science.
At the present time my health is very much better in every way, and I hope to show by my life my gratitude for Christian Science. I am hoping in due time to become a member of the church, that I may take a more active part in this great work. At present I am just waiting on God, and trust that when the work comes to me I may be found ready to do faithfully whatever is required of me.—Stamford Hill N., London, England.
