I feel impelled to tell how through God, divine Love, my child's life has been taken care of. She was able to run about and even to talk a little at the age of one year, when she became afflicted with whooping-cough, and being greatly weakened thereby, developed rickets. The physician instructed me to weigh her, and at the age of four she was much below normal. Finally he gave her up, saying that she could not live.
In those days of hopelessness I heard of Christian Science and asked for treatment, which was lovingly given. Many things in the Bible then became clear to me. From that time on there was a slow but sure improvement, and the child again learned to walk, as we made practical these words of Isaiah: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." At eight years of age she entered school and was very good in her studies; then at the industrial school she won the praise of her teacher by her adroitness and natural ability. She is now fourteen, and every one who knew her from childhood is surprised at her healthy appearance and strong physique.
