As one who has received untold blessings through the teachings of Christian Science, I desire to express my gratitude for this beautiful truth. In 1906 I was healed through Christian Science of catarrh that had reached a so-called dangerous stage, together with many lesser ailments. I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and began the study of the Lesson-Sermons, receiving blessings all along the way. Later, when the loss of dear ones came, this truth was as the "balm in Gilead;" and as I have grown in understanding I have proven there is no problem to which God's law may not be successfully applied. I have been able to forgive a wrong that it seemed impossible for me to forgive; indeed, without a knowledge of God and His laws the memory of this wrong would have darkened all my life.
In February, 1916, an accident occurred while I was automobiling. I was picked up for dead, after having lain for an hour and a half before help came, then brought back to my home (twenty-seven miles), where a Christian Science practitioner was called. Excepting the practitioner no one entertained any thought of my recovery. During the days in which we were waiting for the manifestation of the healing, I applied myself with greater determination to the study of Mrs. Eddy's works, and cannot express my gratitude that this truth was revealed to this age by her purity and her untiring efforts.
My healing has been complete, and I take long rides on horseback up the steepest of mountain trails without experiencing the slightest sense of fatigue. I know that God is "a very present help in trouble," and our textbook says, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). For the blessings received in Christian Science I am most thankful to God, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy.— Buffalo, Wyo.
