There came to my thought two very good reasons for making public this experience in Christian Science healing. It may help another mother to replace a condition of fearfulness and its effects in the home with the peace which passeth all understanding, and it will assist me in the expression of the gratitude I feel to God for this additional proof of His ever presence and availability in time of need.
Our baby daughter was found at night in a stupor, a condition of semiconscious discord from which we seemed unable to arouse her. A Christian Science practitioner was called and treatment begun. In a few hours there was improvement, but the mental condition did not become normal for a week or more. Our attention was early called to another symptom which seemed to annoy her very much. Both the upper and the lower limb on one side hung limp and useless. Some of the symptoms remained for about two weeks. The use of the limbs became normal and all has cleared away. Baby is better in every way than before the experience, and friends and others who see her remark that never did she look so well. The gratitude we feel is inexpressible. The freedom from fear or alarm at any time during the whole of the experience was marvelous to both mother and grandmother, who had all the care of the child. It is certainly an occasion for deep gratitude.
