Gratitude prompts me to submit...

From the June 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Gratitude prompts me to submit my testimony of the healing power of Christian Science, hoping the benefits received by me may bring light to others seeking help. I became interested in this religion through the healing of my brother, who was in a dying condition with lung trouble when Christian Science restored him to perfect health. Since then I have had several demonstrations of the allness of God. In May, 1917, I was taken suddenly with what the doctors term erysipelas. A friend, whose husband had been sick with this disease, advised me strongly to have a doctor, saying her husband had been ill six weeks. I, however, held to the truth, and a practitioner lovingly gave me absent treatment, with the result that in five days I was up with hardly a trace of the ailment. My friend could not understand it; when she saw me first, she could not see my eyes because of the swelling, and the following week I was back at my work again.

Another time I badly scalded my arm, which to material sense was one big blister, but the pain was instantly overcome by declaring the truth. The inflammation and blister disappeared in a few days, and I was able to use my arm without any inconvenience. For this demonstration and all the blessings that have come to us through Christian Science, I am truly thankful. I cannot express in words my gratitude for the healings and the spiritual uplift. I find the study of this healing truth a daily help in my life, and an increasing understanding of God as divine Principle, Love, is a source of great joy to me.—
