I gladly add my testimony to that of my mother, for while witnessing her healing I was also proving the truth for myself. When she took up Christian Science I began to read aloud to her from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, never thinking of myself, although I was greatly in need of healing, but reading for her benefit alone. From infancy I had suffered from chronic stomach and bowel disorder, and at this time I was taking pills regularly every night. The physician attending my mother had told me that my trouble was chronic and there was no possible cure for it. I suffered so much from this ailment that I was often unable to give my mother the care she needed; and when she turned to Christian Science I remarked that if it did her any good I believed I would try it. I had been reading Science and Health to her only about a week when I became aware of harmonious conditions. I began to understand and put into practice what I read, and in a few weeks was freed from the chronic trouble.
The healing has been permanent and I have had many other demonstrations since. I am very thankful to God for all His blessings and feel very grateful to Mrs. Eddy when I realize her love and purity and the magnitude of her work. I also wish to thank the friends who so lovingly helped us during our early study of Christian Science. I find this healing truth a great help in the schoolroom. My success both as a student and as a teacher has been due to the understanding of God gained from Christian Science. I constantly receive spiritual food from my daily study of the Lesson-Sermon and the literature.—
