Testimonies of Healing

Words are inadequate to express...

From the September 1918 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my thankfulness to God for what He has done for me. When my baby was born the attending physician thought the child would never see. When he was about three days old his eyes became inflamed and swelled until they were shut, and he seemed to be in great distress. I had been interested in Christian Science for some time, but my husband had never taken up the study. Friends and relatives wanted to call a specialist, but I held to God as I had never done before.

I had been under Christian Science treatment, and at my request the child was treated for this trouble. For several weeks there was no apparent improvement, but during this time I was so worried I did not seem able to hold to the truth. Then I realized that I had a responsibility, and began to declare the truth in earnest. I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" faithfully, and endeavored to keep out of my thought all that is unlike God. In a short while the realization came to me that my baby was healed. The next day there was a marked improvement in his appearance, and his eyes were rapidly restored to a perfect condition. About the time his eyes began to trouble him so much, he was also taken with a severe hemorrhage. My sister immediately ran upstairs to a telephone and called a practitioner, and when she returned the flow of blood had stopped. Though we had been much alarmed, the child showed no weakness or other ill effects from the experience. He is now almost five years of age and is a normal child in every way. Wherever I take him people remark about his beautiful eyes.

My heart goes out in gratitude unspeakable for this demonstration and manifestation of divine Love. Christian Science has healed me many times, has made me a healthy, happy woman, has brought out more harmony in our home, and has blessed us in every way.—
