Christian Science found us when we were in deep mental depression, hungering after a God of love, a Comforter. We have truly found all in this beautiful truth. Sometimes the way seems dark, but we know that Love will let in the light, and that we must cling closer to God.
One demonstration I wish especially to mention. While doing my washing one day I asked my little girl to catch the clothes as they came through the wringer. Being very busy and in a hurry, I did not notice that her fingers were close to the machine, and when I turned it the wrong way, the hand was drawn in. In my excitement I turned the wringer first one way, then the other, and the hand was badly mangled. She ran screaming out of the house, and her grandmother, who does not believe in Christian Science, threw an apron over the hand to get it out of sight. I telephoned to a practitioner for treatment, all the time declaring God's all-power and ever presence. The help was instantaneous; the blood ceased to flow and the pain left. In half an hour the child was talking over the telephone to her aunt, who had heard about the accident, telling her she was all right. In ten days the hand had healed. New flesh grew. No material remedy was applied, and the healing was accomplished in three treatments.
I am grateful for the Sentinel, Journal, and all the other reading matter that the Publishing Society sends out.—Provo, Utah.
