I turned to Christian Science when one physician after another had told me that one very dear to me could never get well, that she might live for an indefinite length of time but it would be an existence of constant pain, so severe that drugs must continually be used to control it. I saw this dear one freed from these agonizing attacks through Christian Science.
I myself have been healed of a supposedly inherited throat trouble pronounced incurable, for which I had been treated from childhood by some of the finest specialists in the country. Glasses have been laid aside and sleeplessness has been overcome. For ten years I spent most of the time either isolated in my own home with a trained nurse in attendance, or at a hospital or sanitarium. For the past five years I have not spent a single day in bed. During this time I have passed through some of the most severe tests that mortal strength could be called upon to measure up to, at one period nursing one dear to me day and night for many, many weeks, the last ten weeks having no sleep except what was secured sitting in a big chair by the patient's bed.
I pray that wisdom may be given me to serve others as lovingly, patiently, and humbly as I have been served, and that I may show my gratitude in actions as well as words, as Mrs. Eddy so clearly tells us we should do.— Philadelphia, Pa.
