Testimonies of Healing

From the January 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Some time ago while at work in a factory, I operated a large planer, which was driven by a heavy belt traveling at the rate of over sixty-six thousand inches a minute. One day when I was passing under this belt it broke, striking me in the head and face and rendering me unconscious. In this condition I was taken to a doctor, who after examination said my eye might have to be removed. Owing to the condition of my face, which was badly injured, nothing could be done at the time, and I was taken home partially conscious.

Christian Science treatment was at once asked for, and a practitioner was soon with me. My recovery was marvelous. By noon the next, day I was fully conscious and after the first night I suffered no pain in the head or face, but as the swelling went down my eye became only about half its natural size. After six days not a mark remained on my face. I removed the shield from my eye on the eleventh day and could see perfectly, although the eye was still very much under normal size. The following day I went to work and at the end of three weeks the eye was again in perfect condition.

Gratitude not only for this blessing but also for innumerable others received from Christian Science impels the writing of this testimony.—
