Testimonies of Healing

I feel impelled to give my testimony...

From the October 1920 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I feel impelled to give my testimony of healing. Nine months ago I became the mother of a big, healthy baby boy. At seven o'clock in the evening my husband went for the midwife, and later to Winterthur for a practitioner, who lovingly accepted my case. When it was past ten o'clock and no pain had set in, the midwife was of the opinion that matters could not continue in this way, but we told her that in Christian Science there is no pain. At 10.30 our little boy was born painlessly, with not the slightest pain afterwards. When the midwife returned in the morning, she said she had been thinking over the events of the night before, and although she had had many years' experience, she thought she had one of the most difficult births in her experience confronting her, but instead a normal, painless birth had taken place. This experience had taken up so much of her thought that she was scarcely able to sleep, and the next morning felt compelled to declare, "How almighty God is! How almighty God is!" We noticed that the child had hernia, but with the aid of the practitioner this error was soon overcome.

We cannot thank God enough for His inexpressibly great love and help.—
