I heard of Christian Science about seven years ago. At the time I was very much opposed to its teachings and words cannot express how grateful I am now to be learning what the true teachings of Christian Science are. About three years ago I awoke one night with toothache. I tried everything in the way of material remedies that I knew of, but received no help, so the thought came to me to try Christian Science. A Scientist lived next door, and I asked her to treat me, which she did. In about an hour the pain was gone and I went to sleep. The next morning I awoke with a desire to go to the dentist, something I had always feared to do. The Scientist went with me, and I had the tooth extracted. I had no pain and in a very short time the gum was healed perfectly. The dentist told me the tooth had an abscess.
This experience seemed wonderful to me, but I did not take up the study of Christian Science until a year later. I am grateful for all the healing since. Colds, bunions, rheumatism, and influenza have yielded to the truth. Last spring I was seemingly in bondage to an internal abscess. I treated myself to the best of my understanding but seemed to be getting worse, so asked a practitioner for help and in four weeks there was a perfect healing. I was not absent one hour from work during this time. I began to gain in weight and slept perfectly after that. About six years ago I had the same trouble. I was sick in bed two weeks and then the doctor took me to the hospital, where I went through two operations and on returning home was to mortal sense very weak, so that I did not work very much for three months. The doctors also laid down a law that in a few years I would have to go through another operation.
I am very grateful to know Christian Science is the truth and proves that man-made laws are false, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy that she was so pure she could give the truth to the world.— Wrightsville, Pa.
