Several years ago I was led to investigate Christian Science, and gradually there has taken place in my consciousness such an eradication of material beliefs that my outlook on life has entirely changed. I had become dissatisfied with my old theological teaching, and had long been searching for something better. I felt that there was a better way and so continued my search.
When Christian Science was first presented to me, two facts impressed me so strongly that I was satisfied and began the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. The first fact is, that it is demonstrable; the second, that because God has created all, and that all His creation is good, there is no one or nothing to be lost. My gratitude for this second fact was so great that I was healed of a serious physical condition which had reappeared after having been supposedly cured under medical treatment. I have also been healed of nervous headaches from which I had suffered for several years. Hatred, sensitiveness, impatience, and kindred evils are disappearing, and with them physical difficulties. My progress for a long time was very slow, but that was because I did not realize the necessity and importance of careful study and application. During the past five or six years, while passing through a very trying experience, I have learned this necessity and my progress has been greater. On page 66 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us." This has been my experience.
