I feel that I must express my gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus the Way-shower, and to Mrs. Eddy for all that Christian Science has done for me. For the last fifteen months I have been living on the desert and in the mountains, and so have not had an opportunity to express my thanks audibly. I have been interested in Christian Science a little over two years and during that time have had many blessings, including the healing of disease.
My first healing was of lumbago for which I had doctored for three weeks without relief; so I decided to try Christian Science. In one week I was cured and have had no trouble from it since. I have been enabled to do harder work and lift more than I could before and have been greatly relieved of fear. A year ago last May I had the experience of spending two weeks alone in the mountains with no one near me. I was working on a mining location and some of the work was dangerous, but I had no fear and have never felt better or happier than during that time. I had always been afraid to stay alone at night but this time I did not mind it, for I knew that God is ever present and that there was nothing to fear, for He is the only power.
Any one who has lived on the desert for months can realize what it means to be healed of the sense of loneliness. I used to be despondent and worry about being in such places, but now I am happy. All is peace and harmony, for divine Love fills all space, and the desert, for me, has been made to blossom as the rose and it has been materially beautiful with many kinds of flowers.
