I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. It was brought to my notice eleven years ago, at which time I was a physical and mental wreck. I had been in ill health for a very long time, medical help having failed to give me any lasting benefit. I suffered at times from severe headaches, indigestion, extreme nervousness, and depression. I took up the study of Christian Science and asked for treatment. Through the loving and patient efforts of a practitioner, in less than six weeks I was perfectly well, in fact I had never before known such freedom and happiness as I then experienced, and shall never forget how anxious I was that others should share my new-found joy.
My next healing was of a disease which had compelled me on many occasions to keep to my bed, and it was sometimes weeks before I was able to walk again, a fluid remaining in the knees for months at a time. On this occasion I was instantaneously healed. That was quite ten years ago, and since that time I have been able to kneel and do all that has been necessary for me to do in the home, a thing which had not been possible for any length of time before this healing.
Another healing, which took place over six years ago, was of appendicitis. I was to mortal sense extremely ill. A practitioner was again sent for, who very lovingly came and gave me treatment, and relief soon came. Through the desire of others in the house (not of my own family) a doctor was sent for to diagnose the case, and he said that unless the temperature was down by the next morning, I must go to the hospital for an operation. I am glad to say that when he came again there was no need for an operation, for my temperature was normal and, though he said Christian Science would not save me, I was up and about within a week.
