I wish to express my gratitude for even the little understanding I have of Christian Science and for the many ways in which I, as well as my mother and sister, have been benefited. I was first healed of a terrible temper, as well as of the smoking habit, although I did not come to Science for healing of either one of these two, and I never missed them until the family noticed the change and remarked about it. Since then I have realized what this healing has meant to me, for I certainly had an ugly disposition and had been a heavy cigarette smoker for a long time. Other bad habits which at one time seemed impossible to overcome simply faded away without any effort on my part. I have also seen a very sick mother brought back to health in less than an hour's time after calling on a practitioner for help. A few months later my sister was healed of a serious difficulty.
For all these blessings, for the privilege of membership in a branch church, for the lectures, the Sentinel, and Journal, where I always find an answer to some problem, and for every little glimpse of light that I receive, I am thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy and to the kind friends who have so patiently worked for me and helped me in gaining the understanding I now have.—Chicago, Illinois.
