Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has brought...

From the June 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has brought me many blessings, and I am grateful for the opportunity to tell of some of them. I became interested in Christian Science about eight years ago through seeing its effect on others and attending the church services. The simplicity of the service and the love expressed appealed to me so strongly that I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and began the study of the daily Lesson-Sermon. My interest was spasmodic, however, for about a year, when I had occasion to call for help for stomach and liver trouble which had made me an invalid, and from which some of my friends did not think I would recover.

Through the power of God as demonstrated in Christian Science. I was enabled to resume my position, which I had given up, and while improvement was slow, the healing came gradually. I was at that time employed as a chemical engineer in a chemical factory, and was working under very trying conditions, but divine Love sustained me every step of the way. At the end of another year I was led to a much better position in another city, which I held for three years, missing but very little time from the office. I gratefully acknowledge the loving help and counsel of the practitioner while there. Since leaving this city I have passed through some very trying business experiences, which brought up old fears and dreads, but with the help of a loving practitioner these problems are rapidly being met.

For these and many other healings I am deeply grateful to God, to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to all the loving Scientists who have helped me. Christian Science has taught me how to pray, has shown me the necessity for being unselfish, loving, and pure in heart, in order to conform my life to God's requirements. I am thankful for all the activities of Christian Science, which are bringing so much good to suffering humanity, and giving us the opportunity for loving service to our fellow men through putting into practice what we have learned. Mrs. Eddy has given priceless treasures to the world in her writings, and has enabled us to prove that the "still small voice" of Truth heals and regenerates now as it did nineteen centuries ago. For this we owe her endless gratitude.—
