GOD'S GARDEN

From the June 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.—Gal. 5:22, 23.

The fruits of the Spirit in their beauty and grace
Grow perfect and fair in the light of God's face.

There's naught in God's garden that maketh afraid;
Omnipotence reigneth supreme;
Love is the first fruit, an offering made
Pure as the morning beam.

Joy in the garden of God we find,
Peace like a river flows,
Tenderly nurtured and governed by Mind
Each fruit of the Spirit grows.

Longsuffering and gentleness exuding their strength,
Expressing the nature divine,
The allness of God shines clearly at length,
As the fruits of the Spirit combine.

And the light of the sun shall not grow dim
When in God's garden we walk with Him.
