For more than twenty years I have shared the blessings which Christian Science brings to those who turn to it for help. During these years this truth about God and man in His image and likeness has healed me in times of sickness and comforted me when sorrow and distress have seemed very real. I give below one such healing experience.
In December, 1920, while spending a day with some friends in a distant city and in a home with which I was unfamiliar, I walked into an opening in the kitchen floor and fell on a cement floor in the basement, hitting my side on the stairs as I fell. After a moment or two I was able to crawl upstairs and called to a friend visiting in the home, who is a loyal student of Christian Science, and asked for help. Plans for a very full day had been arranged, and included a drive to a neighboring town for luncheon, on which we were to start in about half an hour. At the appointed time I was able to go, and very comfortably too. The day and evening were spent as anticipated, and I took a train at midnight according to schedule, grateful indeed for another proof of the healing truth as taught in Christian Science and given to the world by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
May I add a word here in humble recognition of the wonderful service of this noble, gentle woman to mankind; and for the intelligence, wisdom, and love expressed by her in demonstrating and establishing this glorious, healing gospel for our help and comfort; and of the faithful practitioner who, through a long period of years, led me, lovingly but firmly, to look to God for every good thing.
