In December, 1915, my little grandson, two and a half years old, was very ill. A physician was called and he pronounced it a bad case of diphtheria and membranous croup; therefore, a second physician was called. They did everything they could to help the child—put a silver tube in his throat, keeping it there for forty-eight hours. Seventy thousand units of serum were given. The two physicians made eight trips in one forenoon. All this failing, they told the family that they had no hope for the child, but should he live he would be paralyzed and never be able to walk. They said they had done all they could do.
I then asked my son and his wife if they would be willing to have Christian Science treatment. To this they consented, and a practitioner was asked to help the child. I asked my son, who seemed so filled with fear, to go and have a talk with the practitioner. After doing so he was less fearful. Almost at once the child began to get better. In less than two months the child was able to walk; and from that day to this he has enjoyed good health.
We are grateful to God for this beautiful healing; grateful to Christ Jesus for pointing and demonstrating the way of salvation from both sin and disease; and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for discovering Jesus' method of healing and revealing to the world the Science of Christianity.—Middletown, Ohio.
