Testimonies of Healing

This testimony is given in grateful...

From the November 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This testimony is given in grateful recognition of abundant blessings received through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, and with the hope that some one may thereby benefited as I have been in reading the testimonies of others. After vainly seeking for several years relief in materia medica from many so-called chronic ailments, I was confined to my bed, and then realized the hopelessness of the physicians' treatments. In this extremity I turned to Christian Science, and within three months was perfectly healed. Hemorrhage, which was very serious, was instantaneously overcome. This healing took place more than ten years ago, its completeness being realized while I was reading an article in The Christian Science Journal.

My recovery led me away from old theology and was the means of bringing my family to Christian Science, which has been our only physician since that time; and we are very grateful for the faithful, loving work of practitioners. Mumps, scarlet fever, pneumonia, sciatic rheumatism, appendicitis, and many other diseases have quickly yielded to the power of Truth, and the spiritual understanding gained through these experiences inspires a gratitude which cannot be expressed in words, and increases our reverence for Christian Science and its holy mission to mankind.

When our son sailed for France I was most humbly grateful to have learned that in place of what mortal mind calls space, the Scientist knows there is God's omnipresence, and that our boy was clad in the armor of omnipotent good. Whenever friends who were not in Science expressed wonder at our cheer and courage, I mentally thanked God that we were able to prove the truth of His promise, given in the twenty-sixth chapter of Isaiah, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." My earnest desire is to live in obedience to the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, and so express my gratitude for the knowledge that the works of Jesus were the natural result of his perfect understanding of spiritual law, and that, as God's children, all are privileged to follow his example.—
