It is with deep gratitude I express...

From the December 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with deep gratitude I express my thanks for the many blessings and healings I have experienced through Christian Science whenever rightly applied. Varicose veins of many years' standing have been completely healed; also, glasses were discarded which had been in constant use. Having been an earnest student of Christian Science, I became a member of a Christian Science Society, and was desirous of becoming an active worker.

Having had some experience in nursing, I decided to become a maternity nurse, but lacked the certificates the law demands. I made application for admittance to a training home and was at once accepted. The usual references and doctor's certificate of health were not asked for, although I was years beyond the age limit. These duties were taken up at a time of life when certain material laws of health are strongly held. I was told I could not hope to pass my theory examination, owing to the lapse of years since my school days, since which time I had never taken up any form of study. During my six months' training I had many wonderful proofs of God's care. The duties were most strenuous both in the home and on district work. Every member of the staff was off duty for a time through sickness, except me. I never failed to report for duty. Several of my patients rejoiced in healings, and became students of Christian Science. I rejoice to say the result of my examinations was excellent, and I am now fully certificated. I wish to express my love and gratitude to the dear practitioner who never failed to help me in my work, studies, and examinations. She was always ready to help, counsel, and advise during these months of training.

I am deeply grateful for a better understanding of God's laws and of man's relationship to God; and I sincerely desire to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." My desire is to share the blessings which I have received through the study of Christian Science, and to lovingly care for and try to strengthen others.—
