I became interested in Christian Science about nine years ago through my mother's great need of help. At that time the attending physician told her frankly he could not do anything more for her. I was living quite a distance from her at that time and her letters to me were very discouraging, so much so that I expected to be called home to her any day.
A dear friend of mine, a Christian Scientist, told me how helpful Christian Science would be to my mother; so I wrote her about it, and also started to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in order that I could write intelligently to her regarding Christian Science. To-day my mother is a living testimony of what Christian Science can do. As for myself, while I was reading the textbook extreme nervous headaches became beautifully less, and it is very seldom now that I am troubled with them. A deep sense of loss and grief at the passing on of our eldest child was overcome in a very short time, and I was indeed grateful, for I was very unhappy. Recently the other children were helped beautifully through the experience of whooping cough. My husband was healed of a stubborn sore throat very quickly, for which he is very grateful.
