I am indeed grateful to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who revealed the truth to mankind, not only for the many healings that my family and I have received, but also for the spiritual uplift; and I desire to state briefly two of the many blessings that I have experienced.
In 1918, I was ill with influenza. A practitioner was immediately called, and in two days I was entirely cured and was able to be about my duties as usual. Another of the great blessings I received was in 1919, when I was stricken very suddenly with hemorrhages. I became gradually worse, until my husband, who at that time did not know much of Christian Science, became alarmed and advised calling a physician. Knowing that only divine Love could really effect a cure, I refused the advice and clung steadfastly to the "scientific statement of being," as given by Mrs. Eddy on page 468of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Instead of a physician, a Christian Science practitioner was called; and through her faithful work and understanding of divine Love a decided improvement took place, so that within two weeks after the crisis had passed I was again able to be about my household duties. Since that time I have had the privilege of interesting some of my friends in Christian Science, and have witnessed the wonderful blessings that have been brought to them.
I am also very grateful for having been permitted to become a member of The Mother Church, and for the great benefits I have received from class instruction. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God; to Christ Jesus, our Wayshower; and to our Leader.—Lakewood, Ohio.
