Christian Science is the greatest blessing which has come into my life. In the past seven years, with the exception of having a doctor in attendance at the birth of our three children, along with a practitioner's help at two of the births, God has been our only physician and Christian Science our only medicine. Christian Science most certainly does annul the curse of child-bearing, as I have experienced two painless childbirths.
I wish to relate an experience which occurred in our home several years ago. Our baby, then about three years old, had got hold of a bone, which became lodged in her throat. She appeared to be choking. I denied the material evidence, and knew that this was only another opportunity to prove the allness of God. I repeated the "scientific statement of being," as found on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and when I had finished, the thought came to me that this was God's child and the government should be "upon his shoulder." I started to say the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation, as given by our revered Leader, on pages 16 and 17 of Science and Health, and when I came to the words, "Thy kingdom come. Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present," the bone was released.
We have had many beautiful demonstrations of the power of Truth. One was the healing of a case of convulsions in one absent treatment. Our second little girl, in cutting her molar teeth, became unconscious; but fifteen minutes after we had asked a practitioner for help the child was herself again. The other molars came through without the slightest discord. Whooping cough, toothache, fevers, headaches, measles, and mumps have all been quickly healed through the understanding of Truth.
