BE NOT AFRAID!

From the February 1926 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Be not afraid ! The evils thou dost fear
Are like illusive dreams that fill the night.
Truth wakens thought, and, lo, these disappear;
Then peace and gladness come like morning bright.

Be not afraid, O thou that seemest bound!
The fetters of disease, which thou dost fear,
Thy thought, deceived by false beliefs, has wound.
Take courage, friend! The healing Christ is near.

Be not afraid, O thou enslaved to sin!
No power holds thee fast; thou canst awake
To see its claim unreal, to enter in
Life pure and holy; from its bondage break!
