Desiring to express my sincere gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me, I send this testimony, hoping it may help and encourage some one as the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel have helped and encouraged me. After having a wonderful healing in Christian Science I was overcome with a serious illness of another nature, diagnosed by physicians as colitis, nervous indigestion, intestinal indigestion, ulceration, prostration, weak heart, and other troubles. Three doctors failed to help me, one doctor saying he expected to cure me in a short time but later admitting he was unable to do so. For three years I was practically helpless, confined to my bed three months and a half at one time, six weeks at another. I was on the couch six months, not able to sit up or take any food except malted milk, or to see any one outside the family; and my nights were sleepless. Though almost in despair at times, still I did not quite give up hope that divine Love would guide me to a practitioner who could help me, and through a relative that hope was realized. I began to improve very soon thereafter. Now I am eating almost normally, am quite active about my work, am sleeping well, and am gaining strength steadily; also, many inharmonious conditions have been overcome, some instantly, for which I am very grateful.
I am also grateful for the better understanding I am gaining of God through Christian Science; for the demonstrations I am able to make over error; to Mrs. Eddy that it was possible for her to give us this wonderful truth; to the practitioner for her perseverance, patience, and encouragement when the way seemed dark.— Taunton, Massachusetts.
