Ever since September, 1910, I have been reading the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel, and many is the time I have resolved to write and tell of the many blessings I, as well as my family, have received through Christian Science.
Before taking up Christian Science I had been considered a semi-invalid for a number of years, suffering from bronchitis, rheumatism, indigestion, and other ills too numerous to mention. All of 'these have disappeared through the understanding of Truth which Christian Science gives. I had worn glasses more than twenty years, being unable to read without them. It is many, many months since I put off glasses, although I read three to four hours each day, always reading all the literature. Since coming into Christian Science, I have seen the healing of influenza, croup, deafness, lumbago, ptomaine poisoning, blood poisoning, and many minor ills.
I can never express my love to and gratitude for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who was often misrepresented; but we can understand what Jesus meant when he said, "They know not what they do;" and we can strive to be patient and loving to all with whom we come in contact. To me the greatest thing in Christian Science is the love that is expressed in all of our Leader's writings. The articles also in the literature increase in value every day.—Los Angeles, California
