I did not turn to Christian Science for physical healing or for mental healing, but simply to satisfy my curiosity. I was so impressed by the simplicity of the Sunday services and the loving atmosphere there, that I at once took up the study of this Science. I have not experienced a big healing, but I have had many opportunities of proving the efficacy of the healing truth in small problems.
My heart is filled with joy and gratitude at the realization that whatever the condition may be, whether an organic disease or a slight cold, it is the power of God which heals, and it is always the same—infinite: it does not vary. A severe cold was instantaneously healed ; and excruciating pains in my eyes quickly disappeared, through the loving help that was given me.
The understanding of the words of Mrs. Eddy on page 406, line 28, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" freed me from the bondage of cigarette smoking, and also from any desire for alcohol. I am especially grateful for the wonderful way in which Christian Science sustained me at the passing on of my father.
