With a heart full of gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings which I have experienced in Christian Science. In November, 1924, I was taken ill with fever. After the local physician had treated me for a fortnight, he said he could not bear the responsibility alone, and so I was taken to a clinic for women. However, I grew worse; and the physician, giving up all hope, prepared my husband for the worst. He went home broken down and disheartened. On the train he met an acquaintance who told him about Christian Science. He had confidence in it at once, so went to a local practitioner and asked for absent treatment for me, since no one was allowed to visit me except my husband. I did not know anything about it, but when my husband visited me again the following day, I was able to tell him, full of joy. that I had slept for the first time in seven weeks, and had had no shaking turns during the night, whereas I usually had three or four. Treatment was continued, with the result that in four days I was able to get up, and in three more days was discharged from the clinic as well. My strength returned rapidly, and very soon every sign of my sickness had disappeared. Our little boy has been very quickly healed in Christian Science of indigestion, an attack of inflammation of the lungs, and high fever.
I thank God with all my heart for leading me to Christian Science, and I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who paved the way to this living truth. I am also very grateful that I have the opportunity of attending the Sunday services and Wednesday evening meetings; and I pray God to help me to gain an increasing understanding of Truth, so that I may prove my gratitude by my works rather than by words.— Blankenburg-Harz, Germany.
