I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I had a remarkable experience in proving the ever-presence, power, and protection of God as taught in Christian Science.
While I was traveling on a passenger train, the train stopped about midnight to make some repairs. I had retired to my berth and was repeating the twenty-third psalm, when another passenger train came along at a terrific rate of speed and struck our train. At the very first sound of the impact I cried aloud, "God is my protection!" I was thrown violently out of my berth and the coach was entirely demolished; death and destruction were all around me; but the power of God, as taught in Christian Science, protected me from the slightest bruise, as I went through this experience unhurt.
I have had many blessings through the understanding and application of Christian Science, for which I am humbly grateful. I am grateful to our Father-Mother God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who was so spiritually-minded as to receive the Word of God and give it to mankind in her textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings. I am also grateful for the establishment of the various activities of Christian Science, for the periodicals, for the lectures, for the Reading Rooms, for the untiring help of a loving, devoted, and consecrated practitioner, in my journey from sense to Soul.— Chicago, Illinois.
