It is impossible for me to tell all...

From the April 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is impossible for me to tell all that Christian Science has done for me, but I desire to express my gratitude for some of the many blessings that I have enjoyed through this beautiful religion. It was in 1914 that I received my first healing through Christian Science treatment. For two years up to that time I had been under medical care, suffering from heart and stomach trouble, gastritis, and lack of blood. I had tried different baths, diets, serum treatments, and climates, but did not improve in health. Often in the hottest of weather, when others would be under fans, I would be in bed with a hot-water bottle and a blanket. The last specialist whom I consulted in Florida said that I could not live more than six months.

One day a lady called upon me and, noticing the Bible which I had been reading, told me something about God as she had found Him to be through studying Mrs. Eddy's writings. Also, she told me that she had been healed of a severe burn by Christian Science, and that there was healing for me if I cared to seek it. After she left, I at once sought help from a Christian Science practitioner ; and I was healed in a short time. The next day I ate a meal of solid foods, and within a week my heart, stomach, and blood were normal. However, at that time I did not realize the sacredness of Christian Science treatment, and I was so happy in being well that for a few weeks I laid away the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

It was not long until I had a domestic problem, and this time I was obliged to study and learn more of the teachings of Christian Science. This study brought me more happiness than any healing of a physical ailment; and I have found that with a better understanding of Life, as taught by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, a better understanding of health follows. Without specific treatment I have been cured of colds, tonsillitis, and an organic trouble that a doctor said only an operation could cure.
