Twenty-six years ago, when I was suffering from a great sorrow and ill health, a dear relative said to me, "I know if you would read 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mary Baker Eddy, you would get help." I agreed to do as I was told; and as I began with the Preface, the first words my eyes fell upon were, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." Those words, so true, seemed to lift me above all sorrow, and immediately gave me a different outlook on life. I continued to read, and was healed of gallstone colic and neuralgia of the face and eyes. I have had but one slight attack of gallstones in the past twenty-six years, and that was overcome by reading Science and Health.
When I first began the study of Christian Science, the middle finger on my right hand was bent and stiff at the second joint. This trouble I seemed to forget entirely. When it did come to my thought, after earnest study of Science and Health, I found the finger perfectly healed. I am very grateful for these healings, and for the many healings that have occurred in my family; but I am more thankful for some understanding of the truth concerning God and man's relation to Him. I also wish to express gratitude for the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and for all the good I receive from the reading and study of all the Christian Science periodicals. I am very thankful for class instruction, which has helped me better to understand the Bible and Science and Health. I cannot give too much praise and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for giving to the world so valuable a book.
