Testimonies of Healing

In Malachi we read, "Prove me...

From the May 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In Malachi we read, "Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." This has literally been my experience in Christian Science, which has been my only physician and guide for many years. During this time it has healed me physically, mentally, and financially. One of the many healings is as follows: The healing of broken arches in both feet occurred while I was talking with a practitioner in her office, when with a wise, loving, and exalted thought, expressed in a few well-chosen words, she showed me that I had been trying to destroy something I had believed to be true. At the same time the truth she voiced freed me from a sense of false responsibility. This freedom has been permanent, although now and for several years past I have been on my feet a great deal and have had, to human sense, greater responsibility.

Christian Science treatment lovingly given has destroyed a bad case of influenza accompanied by sore throat, which had closed almost entirely; also weak heart; an irritation of the skin; acute appendicitis; a lame back, which bent me double; a tendency to colds and boils; a fear of inherited paralysis; and, last but not least, grief. The last blessing means much. The chronic fear of poverty has been wiped out by knowing that I do not work for a living, but to express right activity.

Words seem but empty sounds in expressing my gratitude to God, who is omnipotent good; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her revelation to this age of the Christ, Truth, through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings; for her spiritual wisdom in providing the many avenues to meet our human needs; for our daily counselor and guide, the Church Manual; for the earnest, loving workers who support the Manual; for the privilege of class instruction; for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; and for the joy of being of service to mankind, even in a humble way.—
