Christian Science has been my only physician for over ten years; and during this period I have had many healings, two of which especially stand out as cause for much gratitude. The first was that of my eyes. I had been wearing glasses periodically ever since I was a small child, and had been given new glasses just before I became interested in Christian Science. These were supposed to relieve headaches. When I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I did not use the glasses, as I thought one should not do so when reading Christian Science literature. I have never needed them since, and I can see much better without them, although I use my eyes more than ever. The other healing did not come so quickly. For some years a skin trouble kept reappearing, and each time it grew worse. I had used material remedies before knowing of Christian Science, but after a slight improvement the condition would return in a more aggravated form. I had treatments from three practitioners, and also tried to help myself. Finally, when I let go of self and looked away from the body, the trouble passed away, and I have had no more of it. I am grateful for the delayed healing, for through it I lost a great deal of sensitiveness and other bad qualities.
I am deeply grateful for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school and for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church— Newport News, Virginia.
