Testimonies of Healing

To say I am grateful does not...

From the May 1929 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To say I am grateful does not express the depth of my boundless love for the understanding of Christian Science that heals and saves; and when I read Mrs. Eddy's comforting words, "Trials are proofs of God's care" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 66), I know that when we have learned our lessons truly they will not need to be repeated. I have had many proofs of God's care and protection, and have learned my oneness with the Father through demonstration. I had an attack of eczema, called impetigo, which is, when in a chronic stage, considered incurable. I did not seem to be able to overcome this trouble for some months. At last it came on my hand and somewhat interfered with its use. At this juncture I saw that I had to do some deeper work. While reading in Science and Health, I came to this passage on page 351: "It was the living, palpitating presence of Christ, Truth, which healed the sick." I stopped there to see if I could discover the meaning. The instant I saw my oneness with God, as Jesus declared, "I and my Father are one," I began to be healed. In a very short time the disease disappeared, never to return. I sincerely hope this testimony will be the means by which someone may find his oneness with the Father, and know that he is blessed with all spiritual blessing.

Since coming to Pleasant View I have reason to be still more grateful for God's great love in providing me with such a beautiful and comfortable home. —
